3 DPBC Attorneys Named to 2017 “Super Lawyers” List

Rated by Super LawyersMargaret L. Behm, Donald Capparella, and Paul Parker have each been named to the 2017 Super Lawyers’ Annual List of Top Attorneys in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi.

Margaret L. Behm‘s diverse practice includes business transactions and litigation, employment law, and providing counsel to municipal agencies. She has been named to the Super Lawyers list each year since 2007.

Donald Capparella focuses his practice on litigation, both at the trial level and on appeal, with an emphasis on tort and insurance litigation, family law, and personal injury.  He has been named to the Super Lawyers list each year since 2009.

Paul Parker practices in the areas of estate planning and probate and tax law. He regularly conducts continuing legal education seminars for other attorneys on tax, trust, and estate planning issues.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.

Dodson Parker Included on Best Lawyers® – U.S. News 2018 “Best Law Firms” List for Metro Nashville Area

U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers have announced their 2018 “Best Law Firms” rankings. According to the publications, the “Best Law Firms” rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process.

Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella, PC received rankings in eleven different practice areas for the Metro Nashville Area, with “Tier 1” rankings in Appellate Practice, Employment- individuals, Employment – management, Insurance Law, and Non-Profit/Charities Law.  View the firm’s complete rankings here.

Firm’s Pro Bono Service Honored by Tennessee Supreme Court

The Tennessee Supreme Court held its annual “Attorneys for Justice” Middle Tennessee awards ceremony at Belmont University College of Law on October 18, 2017.  The event recognizes lawyers, law students, and law firms for achievements in pro bono service.

Dodson Parker attorneys Margaret L. Behm, Donald Capparella, Candi Henry, and Tyler Chance Yarbro have each been named 2017 Attorneys for Justice based upon their pro bono service during the calendar year 2016.  The firm as a whole also received recognition for the fourth year in a row, reflecting an average of more than 50 hours of pro bono service per attorney in the firm.

 

Behm Talks Nashville’s Path to Inclusion at NBA Diversity Summit

Margaret L. Behm was among the featured panelists at the Nashville Bar Association’s “Diversity & the Law” program on October 3, 2017.  Margaret, who co-founded the city’s first all-woman law firm, spoke about her experiences founding the Lawyers Association for Women in Nashville and her perspective on the law’s path to inclusion.

Six DPBC Attorneys Listed in 2018 Best Lawyers in America Publication

Six Dodson Parker lawyers were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2018.  Harlan Dodson, Margaret L. Behm, Donald Capparella, Tyler Chance Yarbro, Miranda Christy, and Michael B. Bressman were each recognized by the national publication.

The firm’s attorneys were recognized for their work in multiple practice areas including Commercial Litigation, Employment Law and Litigation, Corporate Law, Municipal Law, Non-Profit/Charities, Trademark Law, Insurance Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Appellate Practice, Real Estate Law, and Commercial Transactions/UCC Law.

Additionally, Donald Capparella was named the 2018 Best Lawyers® Lawyer of the Year for Appellate Practice in the Metro Nashville area.  Each year since 2014 he has received a “Lawyer of the Year” designation from the organization.

Behm Speaks on Nashville School of Law Professionalism Panel

During the July 27, 2017 orientation for new students at Nashville School of Law, Margaret L Behm served as a panelist for a discussion on professionalism in the field of law. The Summer 2017  Best Lawyers Business Edition has been released nationwide, and four Dodson Parker attorneys were selected for inclusion.

Behm Featured Panelist at First Tennessee’s “Women Wisdom & Wit”

DPBC Managing Partner Margaret L. Behm participated in First Tennessee Bank’s 2017 “Women Wisdom & Wit” series as a panelist. Behm addressed the topic “Leading through Change: Leveraging Life Transitions to Get What You Want.” The panel discussion took place Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Cal Turner Family Center at Meharry Medical College.

Behm Delivers Speech to JSA Foundation Scholarship Recipients

The JSA Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1982, held its annual scholarship luncheon on May 10, 2017.  Margaret L. Behm, a founding board member of the organization, spoke to recognize the scholarship participants and honor Dr. June S. Anderson, who established the scholarships to encourage women who are returning to school to pursue nontraditional fields of study such as science, engineering, and business administration. The JSA Foundation Scholarships enable women to attend Middle Tennessee State University. The school’s Center for Women and Nontraditional Students is named in honor of June Anderson.
