Firm’s Pro Bono Service Honored by Tennessee Supreme Court

The Tennessee Supreme Court held its annual “Attorneys for Justice” Middle Tennessee awards ceremony at Belmont University College of Law on October 18, 2017.  The event recognizes lawyers, law students, and law firms for achievements in pro bono service.

Dodson Parker attorneys Margaret L. Behm, Donald Capparella, Candi Henry, and Tyler Chance Yarbro have each been named 2017 Attorneys for Justice based upon their pro bono service during the calendar year 2016.  The firm as a whole also received recognition for the fourth year in a row, reflecting an average of more than 50 hours of pro bono service per attorney in the firm.

 

 

Six DPBC Attorneys Listed in 2018 Best Lawyers in America Publication

Six Dodson Parker lawyers were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2018.  Harlan Dodson, Margaret L. Behm, Donald Capparella, Tyler Chance Yarbro, Miranda Christy, and Michael B. Bressman were each recognized by the national publication.

The firm’s attorneys were recognized for their work in multiple practice areas including Commercial Litigation, Employment Law and Litigation, Corporate Law, Municipal Law, Non-Profit/Charities, Trademark Law, Insurance Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Appellate Practice, Real Estate Law, and Commercial Transactions/UCC Law.

Additionally, Donald Capparella was named the 2018 Best Lawyers® Lawyer of the Year for Appellate Practice in the Metro Nashville area.  Each year since 2014 he has received a “Lawyer of the Year” designation from the organization.

The Summer 2017  Best Lawyers Business Edition has been released nationwide, and four Dodson Parker attorneys were selected for inclusion.

The Spring 2017 edition of Best Lawyers Business Edition has been released nationwide.  This edition focuses on “Women in the Law.”  Two DPBC attorneys, Margaret L. Behm and Tyler Yarbro are listed.

Behm and Yarbro are both listed Labor and Employment Law practice area.  Behm is also identified in the practice areas of Commercial Litigation and Corporate Law, as well as Non-Profit/Charities Law, for which she was named the 2017 Best Lawyers® Nashville Lawyer of the Year.

 

Miranda Christy Joins Firm

Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella, PC is pleased to welcome Miranda Christy.

Miranda’s practice focuses on business transactions and real estate, advising various clients on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and leasing.  She also counsels non-profit organizations and has experience in conservation easements and conservation finance.  Miranda brings more than a decade of experience to the firm, having served both as in-house counsel for UBS and, previously, as an attorney at Stites and Harbison, PLLC.

Legal Aid Society Kicks off 2017 Campaign for Equal Justice; Firm Joins 2017 Leadership Cabinet

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands kicked off its annual fundraising initiative, the Campaign for Equal Justice, at a luncheon on Thursday, March 9.

The kickoff luncheon also celebrated the efforts of law firms, attorneys and community partners in advancing the work of Legal Aid Society, including the 2016 Leadership Cabinet – a group of 45 Nashville-area law firms and in-house legal departments that have committed to giving $400 per attorney.   Dodson Parker Behm & Capparella, PC is pleased to join the Leadership Cabinet for the eighth consecutive year.

Dodson Elected Fellow of Tennessee Bar Foundation

Harlan Dodson has recently been elected a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.  Invitations to membership, which is a position of honor, were extended to 31 attorneys this year by the Board of Trustees. and the association consists of only 841 total attorneys across the state. The introduction of new Fellows took place in January at the annual Fellows’ Dinner in Nashville.

The Bar Foundation’s purpose is two-fold: to honor attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the profession and to administer a grant making program. That project, known by its acronym “IOLTA” (Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts), has awarded grants in excess of $21,000,000 to law-related, public interest projects throughout Tennessee.

Four Dodson Parker Attorneys Named to TBA Pro Bono Honor Roll

The Tennessee Bar Association released its 2016 Pro Bono Honor Roll on January 1, 2017.  Four Dodson Parker attorneys were recognized for providing volunteer services.  Margaret L. Behm, Michael B. Bressman,  Candi Henry, and Elizabeth Sitgreaves  were each named to the Tennessee Bar Association’s 2016 Pro Bono Honor Roll.  Being named to the list reflects that an attorney has volunteered for one of several Tennessee pro bono programs.
