It has come to my attention through the keen eyes of a friend, colleague, and Bard of the Bar Subscriber, that my latest post on Finality contained an error. (Aye, me!) In the first paragraph, sentence three, I wrote:

“Notices of appeal must be filed with the clerk of the trial court ‘within 30 days of entry of the judgment appealed from.’ Tenn. R. App. P. 4(a).”

Dear friends, do NOT file your Notices of Appeal with the clerk of the trial court. The sentence should have read:

“Notices of appeal must be filed with the clerk of the Court of Appeals ‘within 30 days of entry of the judgment appealed from.’ Tenn. R. App. P. 4(a).”

I humbly ask your forgiveness and relevantly paraphrase Puck from the end of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Counselors, do not reprehend. If you pardon, Don will mend.
